Half day MiniCamp is a perfect chance for our youngest campers to find out what camp and the farm are all about! We’ll explore how plants grow, see what’s living under the soil, and taste delicious fresh veggies. Most of our time will be focused on camper-driven exploration and play. MiniCampers help make and eat a farm fresh snack each day.
A Day at Camp Fresh Roots
MiniCamp is inspired by the play-based Nature School model. That means our campers will have lots of time to play and explore the parts of the farm that excite them! A typical camp day might look like:
Camp staff will offer games, songs, or art activities as campers arrive
9:15: Opening circle
We’ll check in and see how everyone’s doing, introduce the Theme of the Day, and sing a song to get us moving.
9:30: Exploration Time
Whether it’s looking for worms in the soil, searching for the biggest leaf, or telling stories about the birds in the trees, we’ll explore the farm together!
We’ll use what’s fresh on the farm to create a tasty snack for all to share.
11:00 Exploration Time
More opportunities for unstructured play, camper-driven exploration, arts and crafts, and more!
11:45 Closing Circle
A chance to reflect on what we did, and share any reminders for the next day.
