Learn how to bring the farm to your classroom

Looking to learn more about how to incorporate farm to table activities at your organization, classroom, etc.? There is a growing body of research that illuminates the positive social, mental, emotional, and physical health benefits of students learning in gardens; it can help reduce racism, bullying, and influence healthier choices.

We host professional development opportunities to help educators learn how to incorporate garden-based and cooking-based learning into your classrooms. With BC’s new curriculum, there is a primary focus on transitioning towards inquiry-based learning. The garden is a perfect place to accomplish this! We equip teachers and staff with the skills and confidence to bring your classes outside.

If you are interested in Fresh Roots hosting a ProD workshop specific for your school/school district, let us know here.

Are you a community organization? Social worker? Youth support worker? Interested in gaining skills and confidence in the garden for yourself and your youth? We want to support you too! Feel free to join a pre-planned ProD or connect with us here and we’ll design a session that is focused on an area specifically relevant to you.
