What’s a Single Day Camp?
Think your summer is too busy for camp? Think again! Single Day Camps offer a flexible camp experience, and give campers a chance to dive deep into one particular farm topic. Some program topics may include Predators and Prey on the Farm, Soil Sleuths, Photography, Solar Power, and more!
More details and registration to come June 1st!
A Day at Camp Fresh Roots
Our campers are the star of the show – we’ll follow their lead when it comes to the kinds of activities they’re most interested in! A typical camp day might look like:
Camp staff will offer games, songs, or art activities as campers arrive
9:15: Opening circle
We’ll check in and see how everyone’s doing, introduce the Theme of the Day, and sing a song to get us moving.
9:30: Morning Activity Time
Campers will help on the farm, tend the camp garden beds, explore the day’s theme through games, crafts, hands-on activities, and more. Campers will have morning snack during this time.
All campers have lunch together!
12:30 Rest time
A great time to read in the shade, play a quiet game, journal, draw or paint, or just close your eyes for a minute.
1:00 Afternoon Activity Time
Like the morning, but in the afternoon!
3:00 All Camp Snack
We’ll use what’s fresh on the farm to create a tasty snack for all to share.
3:15 All Camp Activity
Large group game or activity about the day’s theme.
3:45 Closing Circle
A chance to reflect on what we did, and share any reminders for the next day.
