Things are growing quickly now – it seems like every day I come to the farms they look different. The fava beans are up to my waist, when they were only up to my knee’s just two weeks ago! Our kale, temporarily put out of commission by wire worms at David Thompson, has been transplanted to VanTech, where it is growing strong. Yay for big bunches of kale returning to market!
We are also starting up our weekly veggie box program this coming week and I’m excited to meet the people I’ll be growing food for each week of this growing season.
In other news, we are half done building our new walk-in cooler! We’re looking forward to finishing that in the next few weeks. Lots happening right now to get fresh produce from the fields to hungry people’s plates!
