A Half-Day Sampler for our youngest campers! We’ll dig in the soil, try tasty treats, make masterpieces, and explore everything that the farm has to offer, in a shorter camp day. Registration will be by age with groups for campers 4-6, 5-7, and 6-8.

Finish off your summer with our Three-Day Sampler! This shorter camp experience gives campers a chance to experience all the fun Camp Fresh Roots has to offer! Full Week Camps
Ages 5-11
Ages: July camps at David Thompson and August camps at Suwa’lkh are all ages (5-11). August camps at David Thompson are age-specific (ages 5-8 or ages 9-12). Prerequisites: 5-year old campers must have completed Kindergarten. Hours: 9:00 am-4:00 pm Cost: Sliding scale $420, $310, or $200. Please read our Registration Policies.
A Taste of the Forest

Location: Fresh Roots Farms at Suwa’lkh School
Join us in the Earth Spirit Medicine Garden and Healing Forest at Suwa’lkh School in Coquitlam! We’ll make forest teas, fight off alien invaders, learn from local Elders, and see how we can help salmon make their way home. Plus, we’ll taste the summer bounty of both garden and forest.
Art on the Farm (FULL)

Do you like to play with your food? Wanna make a snack that’s almost too cute to eat? How about painting with dirt, or making a naturally dyed shirt? Join us as we use the bounty of the farm to make fantastic creations of all kinds! On our field trip, we’ll see how gardeners and landscapers create living works of art with plants.
EcoWonders

Bring your sense of wonder as we explore all the life of the farm! We’ll explore how plants grow from seeds, how worms make our soil fabulous, and how our farm depends on healthy air, water, and soil. And we’ll take a walking field trip to see how ecosystems change throughout neighbourhoods, and/or get a chance to Meet-A-Farmer and ask our farm team how they work with the ecosystem to care for our farm!
Seed to Salad

Where does your food come from? Who helps it get to your plate? We’ll follow our food from seed to salad, and meet the people who help it get there, including our Farmers and Chefs!
Different Spaces, Different Faces

Who is living in the garden? Who plays in the forest? Who is eating from the orchard? Who drinks from the stream? Come meet the living things that call the Suwa’lkh garden and farm their home!

Take farm art to the next level. Work with your team to create nature and farm-related artworks to keep, and some to stay on the farm as a legacy project! You’ll practice your drawing, painting, and crafting skills each day, plus make delicious food and get your hands dirty helping the farm to grow.
EcoHero (FULL – Wait List Available)

You can be an EcoHero, on the farm and in your community! Learn how our ecosystems and the farm are connected, and develop a legacy project to make the farm a healthier home for the many living things who call our farm home. Plus, make delicious food, get your hands dirty helping the farm grow, and create awesome art projects.
Farmer to Chef (FULL – Wait List Available)
Dates: August 19-23, ages 9-12 Location: Fresh Roots Farms at David Thompson Secondary
Dive deep into the human systems that get food onto our plates, track your snack back to its source, and be part of the local food system in action. Work with your team to create more complex meals and snacks, and adopt a section of the farm to care for during the week. Plus, you’ll meet farmers and chefs, create awesome art, and more!
