Farm Operations Paused
Following the Board’s decision to wind down Fresh Roots Urban Farm Society, we are seeking new stewards for our sites and programs. Please see the letter from the board for more information about this decision.
Fresh Roots sells our schoolyard farm-grown produce and youth-made preserves to school meal programs, restaurants, and our neighbours. We also feed kids and youth in our Camp, SOYL, and Field Trip programs from the farm, and support local food access programs. Read on to find out how you can buy our food!
Fresh Roots Markets
Join us for our weekly markets in Vancouver and Coquitlam! Each week, we have a new mix of the freshest, hyper-local produce, plus other goodies like preserves made by our SOYL youth, flowers from our farms, baked good from our bakery partners, and more! Every week there’s sure to be something new.
Vancouver East Market
Dates: Wednesdays, May 28- October 7
Times: 3-7pm
Location: Van Tech Secondary, 2600 E Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5M 1Y5 -Behind the school on the East side, near the tennis courts.
Vancouver South Market
Dates: Fridays, July 10- August 28
Times: 3-6pm
Location: 1755 E 55th Ave, Vancouver, BC V5P 1Z7 – Access through Argyle Street
Coquitlam Market
Dates: Thursdays, July 2- Sept 3
Times: 3-6pm
Location: Millside Centre, 1432 Brunette Ave, Coquitlam, BC V3K 1G5 – At the front entrance, just off Schoolhouse.
Vancouver Veggie Boxes and Flower CSA
Fresh Roots Veggie Box and Flower CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) programs are a fabulous way to get the freshest, most delicious, hyper-local produce while supporting the amazing work we’re doing at Fresh Roots!
When you join a CSA, you enter into a direct partnership with a local farm. Members buy a share of the farm’s harvest at the beginning of the season to contribute to the costs of seeds, tools, and other inputs. As members, you will be rewarded with delicious, fresh, and hyper-local produce and a strong sense of community.
CSA Basics
Cost: $30/week for Veggies ($600 for Vancouver; $300 for Coquitlam and Vancouver Peak Season); $25/week for flowers ($250)
Dates:
- Vancouver Veggie Box CSA : May 27 – October 7, 2026 (20 weeks)
- Vancouver Peak Season Veggie Box CSA : July 10 – Sept 11, 2026 (10 weeks)
- Coquitlam Veggie Box CSA : July 2 – Sept 3, 2026 (10 weeks)
- Vancouver Flower CSA : July 8 – Sept 9, 2026 (10 weeks)
CSA sales begin in December, and go quickly. Fill our CSA Interest Form to be the first to know when CSA sales open!
Pick-Up: Pick-up is Wednesdays, 3-7 PM, at our Van Tech Market for Vancouver Veggies, 4-7 PM for Vancouver Flowers; Thursday 3-6 PM for Coquitlam Veggies. (See Fresh Roots Markets for exact locations.)
I love my Fresh Roots CSA, the quality of the vegetables is so high, and the cost is fantastic value especially given the economic situation this year. It feels good to support this program and get such amazing locally grown produce at the same time. I would highly recommend the CSA or markets for anyone in the community!

Native Plant Sales
We propagate a wide variety of native plants at our site in Coquitlam! These are available for purchase during our Millside Markets from June through August, and keep an eye on our social media for special Native Plant Sales in the spring. Availability varies.
