Number one thing for me is the community that comes with it (Fresh Roots). Everyone is so positive and supportive and everybody encourages each other to be the best versions of ourselves. It’s a super inclusive space, especially growing up as a queer teenager, it’s so nice to have people who fully see you for who you are.

Join our Network of Monthly Donors
Help us keep food growing and young people connecting to the land and themselves through hands-on learning on schoolyard farms right in their own communities!
Monthly Giving is an easy way to make a big difference by helping us reduce administrative costs and provide foundational, reliable, and ongoing income we need to purchase items like seeds and compost for the schoolyard farms and plan and deliver programs throughout the year. You’ll also receive access to events and farm tours in addition to bi-annual updates to share the impact of your donations.
I grew up on a farm growing our own food – I loved how fresh it was, how magical that I could walk out the door and find lunch! These were foundational memories for me to also appreciate the time and effort that goes into growing our food. I support Fresh Roots on a monthly basis as I want as many young people as possible to grow up with a connection to their food, and the joy and satisfaction of tasting how their hard work pays off!

Team Building
Gather your friends, family, or community group for a rewarding day on the farm! Join us to dig in the soil, plant crops, and help with seasonal farm tasks while learning about sustainable agriculture and local food systems. It’s a fun, hands-on way to connect with the land, make a difference, and support youth education and food resilience in your community.
