Step out of the office and onto the farm!

Join us for a unique, hands-on team-building experience that gives back to the community.

Our vibrant schoolyard farms are the perfect setting for your next team-building adventure! We invite your organization to roll up your sleeves and join us in a range of activities outside on our farms. From turning compost, transplanting seedlings, beautifying the space, or building new infrastructure, there is always good work to be done!  We look forward to sharing the bounty with you!

Team Build opportunities are typically available on the farms March through October.

• Help create meaningful change in your community by supporting healthy, school-grown food and innovative educational opportunities for Vancouver youth.
• Learn from skilled facilitators to lead you through a time of knowledge, exchange and connection.
• Invigorate your team, explore your collective abilities and celebrate the joys of sustainably-grown food!

What You’ll Do

Team Builds are generally 3 hours in duration. During your Team Build, your team will:

• Get to know one another through facilitated team activities.
• Tour and learn the story of the schoolyard farm.
• Learn how your group will help make a difference.
• Taste farm-fresh food (when seasonally available).
• Help us grow Food, Youth, and Community!

Cost and Accessibility

At Fresh Roots, every Team Build is a tailored experience. We plan, schedule, and provide materials, staff hours, and a lot of heart to make your time on the farm meaningful.

To support our programming and make these experiences possible, we ask for a minimum fee of $500 per group.

For larger groups (10+ people), we recommend an additional contribution of $25–$75 per person, depending on group size and capacity. Your contribution helps cover staff facilitation and materials, and allows us to keep our educational and youth empowerment programs affordable and accessible.

We’re committed to making our Team Builds inclusive. If cost is a barrier, especially for non-profits or community-based groups, please let us know. We’re happy to work with you to find a solution!

Youth Groups

If your group is made up of youth 19 and under, please visit our Learn on the Farm page and book a Student Team Build. If you need a time outside of school hours or are looking for a program longer than 2 hours, please email education@freshroots.ca for options!
