Here’s what our Community has to say

I don’t have to battle the grocery store crowds to pick up fresh vegetables for dinner. Instead, I pick up my salad box program goodies at the very convenient pick up location once a week – and because everything was picked about 2 seconds ago, the taste, vitality and longevity is incomparable to grocery store offerings. Each week, the varied selection of greens, root vegetables and herbs inspire me to try new things. I’m also honoured to be a part of the mission of Fresh Roots – teaching our youth to feed themselves. I can’t wait for my 2016 box to start!

I am truly inspired by my participation in this year’s CSA with Fresh Roots. After eating an entire seasons worth of delicious and fresh harvests, I am convinced that this is how food is meant to taste and be experienced. There is a sensibility with which the food was grown and harvested by the farmers and interns that is palpable. This added dimension of love and appreciation for the process came through the fresh food I received weekly. Knowing the values Fresh Roots upholds, I couldn’t be happier to support them.

These salad boxes never disappoint. Our fridge is always stocked with fresh, healthy, and incredibly tasty food, with the added pleasure of variety week to week and the knowledge that we’re supporting a great program that benefits local farmers, educators, students, and the community. I would recommend this program to anyone who likes to eat really well and feel good about the food that they are buying.
